TO COVER OR NOT TO COVER: A STORY ON AURAH AND DAKWAH
Not so long ago, I saw a status of a young Malay woman condemning on why Muslim women have to wear tudung. According to her logic, Allah creates beautiful hair to be shown off and not to be covered. She went on by giving examples of how Eve/Hawa had gloriously beautiful hair when she was created by Allah for Adam and by nature Eve/Hawa didn’t cover her hair. A young Malay man answered her question by asking her, “By nature all of us were born naked. Why didn’t you walk around naked?”
I’m not writing this status to condemn others who are not covering aurat. Wallahi, I’m far from a perfect 10 in this. But I would like the readers of my status here to be aware about the danger of using your limited human logic to go against Allah SWT words.
